About Marc Karlin

Attorney Marc Karlin is the managing partner at Karlin & Karlin, APLC. He practices throughout Southern California in the area of immigration law. Since September 2012, Mr. Karlin has helped clients achieve successful outcomes in a wide range of immigration matters.

Born, raised, and educated in Southern California, I began my legal career working for insurance companies. A few years after I graduated from law school, my mother, who at the time was employed as a registered nurse at the Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles, was harmed by medical negligence while undergoing gallbladder surgery. She pursued a medical malpractice claim, and I assisted in bringing her case to a successful conclusion.

Shortly thereafter, I joined forces with my late father, Philip Karlin, a certified immigration attorney, to form Karlin & Karlin. Since that time, I have concentrated my practice on helping individuals and families navigate the immigration system, including family-based petitions, waivers, consular processing, employment-based options, and other long-term immigration strategies.

The commitment to giving back to the legal profession and my community was handed down to me by my father and is part of my DNA. I am honored to support Big Sunday and the Colburn School. My firm also provides pro bono legal services to many charitable organizations and causes, including Homeboy Industries, founded by one of my Loyola High School instructors and longtime friend, Fr. Greg Boyle.
